Sara Hartley Llewellyn, sopranoSoprano and founder of Hartley Voices, Sara earned her Masters Degree in Vocal Performance with Departmental Distinction from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she studied with the talented mezzo-soprano and vocal department chair Wendy Hillhouse.

Her operatic soprano lead roles include that of Suor Angelica, in the title role of this Puccini opera for the Festi’Val de Musique Valois in Provence, France; Mrs Waters, the lead role in Ethel Smyth’s Opera The Boatswain’s Mate with St Albans Chamber Opera; Gretel in Hansel & Gretel in San Francisco, Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro in Berkeley; Loretta in Gianni Schicchi in Minnesota and Julie in Carousel in the St Albans Arena. Some of Sara’s many international achievements in competition include San Francisco Conservatory of Music Scholarship, Burlingame Voice Competition First Prize, California Federation of Music Clubs Competition Prize, St. Olaf Senior Soloist, and the Winston Cassler Music Scholarship.

Sara Soprano PerformanceAs well as maintaining an active professional life performing as soprano soloist for opera, musical theatre, and events in the UK and abroad, Sara enjoys singing for weddings and more personal events on a regular basis throughout the year.

Recently Sara has performed for corporate and personal events in intimate as well as grand venues including the Royal Opera House Paul Hamlyn Hall, The Birmingham Symphony Hall, Painters Hall, Grosvenor House, Park Plaza Victoria, The Wisley, Claridges, The Savoy, The Oracle Centre, Kew Gardens, Park Lane Hilton, Asprey, Lincoln’s Inn, Crown Plaza London, Oakwood Hall, Olympia Grand Hall, Gretra Hall, Christ Church Spitalfields, Sopwell House, Great Fosters, The Dorchester and many others.

Sara will work with you to ensure that you are happy with the songs and format of music that she performs for your special event. She can offer the perfect programme for your Religious or Civil ceremony with a wide repertoire of traditional and non-religious songs. If requested she can also provide suggestions based on your format, or perform your requests.

Opera Soprano Soloist for dinner party entertainment

Where accompaniment is concerned, she is also a well experienced soprano at singing with harpist, pianist, organist, string quartet or trio, choir, a cappella, recorded orchestra backing accompaniment and more. She is happy to work with musicians whom you’ve arranged independently, or to organise accompaniment per your request. If you are unsure of what you’d like, Sara is happy to talk you through the options based on your venue.

Sara also sings the soprano lead in the popular troupe of vibrant performers, Classicallusion, who perform in various formats and costume from the gala exquisite to the comic opera incognito infiltration singing waiters act for many events throughout London and the UK.
