As well as maintaining an active professional life performing opera, musical theatre, and events in and around the London area, Sara enjoys singing for weddings and more personal events on a regular basis throughout the year.
Having attained her Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance from
St Olaf College in Minnesota, cum laude, and a Master's Degree with
distinction in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory
of Music, where she studied with Wendy Hillhouse.
Her operatic performances include the role of Gretel in Hansel and Gretel sung with the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in the Fall of 2000, as well as with Livermore Opera in the following season, and Susanna, from The Marriage of Figaro, with Berkeley Opera's Julia Morgan Theatre Program, and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music's Summer Music West Program.
Sara will work with you to ensure that you are happy with the songs and format of music that she provides for your special event. She can cater to your Religious or Civil ceremony with a wide repertoire of traditional and non-religious song. If requested she can also provide suggestions based on your format, or perform your requests.
Where accompaniment is concerned, she is also well experienced
at singing with harpist, pianist, organist, string quartet, choir,
a cappella, high quality recorded backing accompaniment and more.
She is happy to work with musicians whom you’ve arranged independently,
or to organise accompaniment per your request. If you are unsure
of what you’d like, Sara is happy to talk you through the options
based on your venue.
Sara also leads a popular troupe of vibrant singing waiters, AKA
Opera, who perform in various formats and costume from the gala
exquisite to the comic opera incognito infiltration act for many
events throughout London and the UK.
"Dear Sara, I have
no doubt that you get several Thank You messages for your performances
but this appreciative message is a very Personal and Emotional THANK
YOU from Gwen and Me for your choice of songs and your Fabulous
rendering of each one. Our guests were overwhelmed by your performance---so
once again THANKS!"
