Octavio

 

Octavio is a lyric tenor born in Recife, Brazil. He studied with Brazilian baritone Eduardo Vieira and made his professional debut as Rinuccio in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi. He won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music in London where he was awarded The Gilbert Betjemann Operatic Prize and The Wolfson Singing Award.

Since then he has performed as a soloist in England, Wales, Austria, Brazil, Portugal, USA and New Zealand including in prestigious venues such as the Barbican, the Saddlers' Wells, St. Martin's in the Field, Canterbury, Llandaff, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Nelson (New Zealand) the Bristol Cathedrals, and at the Kensington Palace. Operatic roles performed include Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi), Don Jose (Carmen), Ferrando (Cosi Fan Tutte) and Egisto (L'Egisto).

The Sunday Telegraph described his voice as "outstanding with genuine lyrical expansiveness".
