| Elinor was a
student at the prestigious Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester
before moving to London to study voice at the Guildhall School of
Music and Drama. Whilst at the Guildhall she won the Worshipful
Company of Horners’ Becker Scholarship to complete her Masters
Degree in performance.
She is experienced on both opera and concert
stages and has performed in many of the major concert halls in the
UK and as far away as Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and
the US. She has appeared as a soloist aboard The Minerva II for
the Swan Hellenic Cruise Line, and has entertained at corporate
events in venues including the HMS Belfast, The Gherkin, Kings Road
Gallery, Burlington Arcade, Chelsea Marquee, The East India Club,
Bridgewater Hall, Huddersfield Football Stadium, Tower of London,
Olympia Exhibition Centre, Tandridge Golf Club, and most of the
City Livery Halls. In 2004 Elinor was a soloist at the world famous
Thursford Christmas Spectacular.
Her recent operatic roles include Rusalka/Voran
May Night, Garsington Opera, Rowan The Little Sweep (Shannon International
Music Festival), Zerlina Don Giovanni, (Hampstead Garden Opera),
Gretel and Dew Fairy and Sandman (cover roles) Hansel and Gretel
(Young London Touring Opera), The Singer in a new production based
on The Pied Piper with Opera North Education, Mercedes Carmen (Lakeland
Opera), Hansel Hansel and Gretel (Opera Festa and Opera Brava),
Second Lady The Magic Flute (Kentish Opera), Polly Peachum The Threepenny
Opera (ENO Baylis), Forester’s Wife and Owl The Cunning Little
Vixen (British Youth Opera).
Elinor is accomplished in the field of contemporary
music, and music theatre and won the Tracey Chadwell Memorial Contemporary
Song Prize at the GSMD. After winning this award she went on to
create the roles of Saskia Tangier Tattoo (Glyndebourne Youth Opera
Project) and Queen Isabella, Edward II, which was written for her,
at the GSMD.
For the past three years Elinor has performed
in the summer seasons for both Opera Holland Park and Garsington
Opera. In 2005 she was the recipient of the Garsington Opera Young
Artists’ Award.
